Gentry Oliver competed in the Denver Half Marathon, on Oct. 18. She has been training in Saratoga, Wyo. since May. This was the first marathon Gentry has competed in. She is looking forward to completing another half marathon in Ogden, Utah in May and also one in Las Vegas, Nev. next December. She was inspired to complete this marathon because it was something someone once told her she could never do.

“I was told that I was not an athletic person and that I was not a runner,” she said. “I was determined to prove that statement wrong.” She is also looking forward to training for a full marathon in the future. “This was a great experience for me and I am really looking forward to my next race in Utah,” she added. Oliver is currently teaching second grade in Saratoga Wyo.
