With the hopes of finding a job with the flexibility to keep track of her kids and allow her to spend time with them, Olga Sullivan has found one she believes will suit her just fine.
She began as an associate broker at D. Scott Realty Jan. 5. It was five years ago she decided she would like to get involved in today’s real estate industry.
She recently received her license after staying at home and completing the process online through Kaplan University.
“She has many years of knowledge and experience in the field,” Sullivan said referring to Dorthy Scott of D. Scott Realty.
Sullivan cited the strong clientele and reputation at D. Scott Realty as reasons for jumping on board with the company.
She wants to be successful at finding the right property for customers and help build up a strong clientele.
One advantage Sullivan has is her ability to speak both English and Spanish. Both she and Scott feel this is an added asset to the business.
Although she doesn’t have much experience in the real estate market, she and husband Jeff spent five years living on the front range where they successfully purchased and remodeled two homes. They moved back to Holyoke five years ago.
Sullivan graduated from HHS and accomplished many things since then and experienced many different types of endeavors.
She worked at World Savings in Julesburg as a branch manager. She and Jeff opened Sullivan’s Appliance and Air Conditioning in Holyoke. She also worked at a Home Depot out on the front range as well as being a stay-at-home mom.
Sullivan also recently worked at Points West Community Bank in Haxtun for a short time. Although her time at the bank was short, she enjoyed working with the people which excites her about beginning at D. Scott.
She and Jeff have three children. Cierra, 20 attends University of Colorado in Boulder, Tristan 10 and Brenna 7.
Scott said she is happy to have Sullivan join the staff. “She meets the public well and is very friendly and helpful,” Scott said.
D. Scott Realty was one of the first real estate companies in the area, according to Scott.
After two years of working under Scott, Sullivan said she would be eligible to become an independent broker.
A personal goal for Sullivan is to utilize the internet and incorporate some new ideas.
“I’m really excited to be out in the public and in Holyoke,” she added.
