Colorado State University (CSU) and Parker Water and Sanitation District are sponsoring a public field tour on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m.
The Lower South Platte Irrigation Research and Demonstration Project through CSU addresses the agronomic and economic tools needed for maximizing the efficient use of water resources in irrigated agriculture. The program focuses on limited irrigation technologies for crops such as corn, wheat, sugarbeets and alfalfa.
The field day will consist of field plot tours with researchers—focus on water limited cropping systems and a weather station overview and data access.
The event will take place at Linear move irrigation research and demonstration site on Highway 138 one mile east of Iliff from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a lunch served after the event.
