Home Free: a cappella in Ogallala Sept. 28 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

A male a cappella group , Home Free, will perform Monday, Sept. 28 at the Ogallala High School Lecture Hall at 7 p.m. The performance is part of the current 2009-2010 concert season, presented by the Ogallala Regional Arts Council.

Home Free has singers like other a cappella groups as they produce all the percussive effects with their voices and microphones. However, this group of talented men is carving new ground and expanding its audience’s horizons by introducing its own unique flavor to the musical world.

The genre of music is an extensive mix ranging from pop songs to classical and even techno...all successfully done with only the human voice, their microphones and a state of the art sound system. Home Free’s music is put to explosive beats by one of the most exciting vocal percussionists in the a cappella scene, Adam Rupp. In concert he will be featured as a vocal percussion soloist. Other members of Home Free include Adam’s brother Chris Rupp, Chris Foss and Matt Atwood.

Home Free has performed for a diverse clientele, ranging from the Minnesota Vikings to the Mall of America, as well as concerts at colleges and other schools. They also devote their time to educating and encouraging music in the schools through innovative workshops and performances for students.

This amazing group is doing what they love, anxious to continue pushing the boundaries of what they can do, both musically and professionally.

Members of the Ogallala Regional Arts Council will be admitted to this performance with their membership card. Nonmembers may purchase tickets at the door. At this first concert of the year, the public may purchase a membership to the Ogallala Regional Arts Council if they have not already done so. This membership allows admission to all of the concerts throughout the 2009-2010 season.

Refreshments will be served after the performance. For questions concerning this performance, call Karen at 308-284-4212.
