|Yuma Art Show Oct. 2-8|

The annual Yuma Art Show will be held Oct. 2-8 at First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. 4th Ave., Yuma.
Entries will be accepted from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2. Opening reception is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. Artists will be present, and a critique will be given by the judge. Everyone is invited.
The show is open Sunday through Wednesday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. On Thursday, Oct. 8, show is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Art will be released at 5 p.m. and the show closes. Art will also be released Friday, Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. until noon.
This show is open to all artists with categories for professional, advanced, amateur and young people. There is a small entry fee to cover costs.
Kary Zweygardt from St. Francis, Kan. will judge the show. He has a studio, teaches in St. Francis and is recognized for his commercial art work.
Leta Smith will be Guest Artist for 2009. She is well known for her pottery and watercolors. A lifelong resident of Yuma County, Smith interprets her world through her art.
Ruth Beethe will show some of her paintings as honored artist. She has enjoyed working with oils, and art has been a great hobby.
