Inspiring audience members to get into the Christmas spirit was the mission of Marcia Dalton and her high school, junior high and select choirs at their Winter Choir Concert Thursday night, Dec. 11.
Jordan Zeiler and Whitni Redman opened the program by singing a duet, “Where Are You Christmas?
The High School Chorus then took the stage, performing “An Amy Grant Christmas,” “Joy To the World” and “Various Themes on Fa La La.” Featured soloists during “An Amy Grant Christmas” included Sarah Heermann, LeAnne McWilliams, Natasha Peregoy, Mallory Purnell and Sianna Gomez.
Soloists for the evening were Brittany Durbin, “Mary Did You Know,” Brooke Parker, “Heirlooms,” Ella Stewart, “Breath of Heaven” and Kaylee Groshans, “Welcome To Our World.”
Junior High Chorus members had the audience tapping their toes to two numbers, “You’re A Mean One Mister Grinch” and “Santa Unplugged Medley.” The latter starred soloists Camille Elliott, Elissa Baker, Shaylee Krueger, Xandra Lock, Trevor Dalton and Phillip Beck.
Singing “The Christmas Wish” was the Junior High Girls Special Group, which included Eva Penzing, Brittney Prottsman, Aracely Peña, Kelsey Kramer, Madison King, Makayla Spitz, Camille Elliott, Shaylee Krueger and Xandra Lock.
HHS Select Choir entertained the audience with choreographed dances, complete with special holiday props, to “Rockin’ Christmas Celebration” and “Swingin’ At Santa’s Place.”
Another special number performed by the select choir left no mother in the audience with a dry eye. The group sang “Somewhere In My Memory” to a slideshow presentation displaying pictures of select choir members when they were younger.
For the last two songs, all the choirs came together to sing “Jazz Gloria” and invited the audience to sing along with “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.”
