|Mobile clinic Oct. 6|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
A free mobile health clinic is coming to Holyoke and Haxtun on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Salud Family Health Center’s mobile unit features screenings for diabetes, hypertension, anemia, cholesterol and dental. Seasonal flu shots and tetanus vaccinations are available.
Although the clinic targets anyone without insurance—Medicaid patients, seniors, low-income and farm workers—the clinic is open to all. Bilingual employees offer services, and a medical provider will be on hand for private consultations.
No prescriptions are written by clinic personnel, and referrals are made to local health-care providers. No appointment is needed for the clinic. Those who have Medicaid, Medicare or other insurance, should bring their cards.
Salud mobile unit to be in Holyoke from 1-4:30 p.m. in the parking lot between Holyoke Marketplace and Bank of Colorado. Haxtun clinic hours are 5-6:30 p.m. in Haxtun Super’s parking lot.
The free clinic is being sponsored locally by the Phillips County 4-H Council as a community service for National 4-H Week, Oct. 4-10. For more information, call the Extension office at 854-3616, or Jackie Alexander at Salud at 970-526-2589, ext. 4927.
