Lois Carruthers of Holyoke was recently recognized as Hospice of the Plains’ outstanding quarterly volunteer.
Carruthers has been a volunteer with Hospice of the Plains since 2001, and she was recognized for being the “voice of Hospice.”
“Lois makes sure people in the community of Holyoke know what Hospice can do for them. If there is a breakdown in communication, she is more than willing to call and let us know where we need to improve,” said a Hospice representative.
In addition to advertising for Hospice, she has been very active as a Hospice friend and visiting patients. She bakes treats for the ongoing Hospice activities in Holyoke and for patients and their families.
“We are blessed to have such a wonderful and willing volunteer in Lois Carruthers.”
