Holyoke City Council members had a short agenda for the Tuesday, Dec. 1 meeting.
Council members decided to offer a vacation day as a door prize at the city employee and council Christmas party. It was also suggested a second day be offered. Ray Bailey said the council needs to show appreciation to city employees.
The council approved the Colorado Discretionary Aviation Grant Application. The grant is for a pavement project dealing with the airport enhancement project.
City Supt. Mark Brown said the project will happen in 2010.
Reports of city officials
Police Chief Phil Biersdorfer reported there has been an issue with a telephone scam in Holyoke. He said a caller from Jamaica had been making harassing calls to residents in town.
Biersdorfer said they believe it has stopped because they haven’t received any more reports.
City Supt. Brown said city crews are working on some alleys, repairing potholes.
In other business Dec. 1, council members:
—approved the annual appropriations ordinance.
—allowed the city clerk/treasurer to certify the mill levy at 21.8 mills and adjust the revenue in the 2010 budget to reflect the assessor’s final evaluation.
