Baby Bear Hugs held its third annual Cash for Christmas Raffle Friday, Dec. 12 at the regional office in Yuma. Santa made an early appearance to draw the winning tickets! The raffle encompasses all nine counties that Baby Bear Hugs serves, and this year there were three winners, with prizes totaling $2,000. The grand prize of $1,000 was won by Joyce Larson of Yuma, $500 went to Anita Nien of Sedgwick and $500 to Diane Ulmer of Haxtun. The funding raised by the raffle will benefit children and families in Cheyenne, Kiowa, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma counties. It will provide support and parenting education to parents and families with children 0 to 3 years old. Some of the funding raised in this effort will support the delivery of the Nurturing Parenting program in the home visit setting.
