Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado’s leading workers’ compensation insurer, announced the recipients of the company’s second annual Circle of Safety Awards. This year a total of 44 policyholders from across the state were recognized. Included in that group is Grainland Cooperative in Phillips County.
Pinnacol’s Circle of Safety Award was created to recognize policyholders who have demonstrated exceptional performance in four areas of risk management—safety, claims, management, loss control and financial management.
The award’s name acknowledges the fact that improved risk management is the result of a circle of many people working together—including top management, frontline employees as well as Pinnacol employees and the policyholders’ insurance agents.
“Last year we recognized 29 policyholders for their outstanding safety records, and this year we’ve seen that number grow by 68 percent,” said Ken Ross, Pinnacol president and CEO.
“This level of commitment to workplace safety is testimony to what can be achieved when everyone is focused on one goal—maintaining a safe work environment for their employees. It is gratifying for us to be able to recognize these outstanding policyholders.”
Pinnacol policyholders were eligible to receive the Circle of Safety Award if they met the following criteria: policyholder for at least four consecutive years, .85 or less experience modification rating (e-mod), a loss ratio of 25 percent or less, 80 percent of all claims reported within 48 hours, designated medical providers, two or fewer notices of cancellation, no non-compliant audits, have obtained cost containment certification and have an approved return-to-work program.
