|Velma Biddle continues rehab into the new year|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
After a midsummer fall landed Velma Biddle in Centre Avenue Health and Rehab at Fort Collins, she started working right away to get home to Holyoke. In her most recent update, Biddle’s niece Sharon Gray noted rehab is going “marvelously.”
A broken arm and dislocated shoulder were the worst of the damage, and the road to recovery has proven, though slow at times, successful. She has regained some use of the arm, and continues to work toward full functioning. Taking an additional step in convalescence, Biddle was recently moved to assisted living.
While Biddle looks forward to returning to her home in Holyoke, she has been making the most of her time in Fort Collins as well. For Thanksgiving, 17 from the Biddle family gathered from near and far to share the holiday with one another. Biddle enjoyed playing games and visiting with nieces and nephews. She was quite pleased with the whole affair.
For Christmas, Biddle joined Gray at her home for a small gathering. It was a nice, quiet time, Gray said.
At this point, Gray anticipates Biddle will be returning to Holyoke in the spring. This will give her more time to rehabilitate her arm, as well as avoid any mishaps with the ice and snow. Biddle’s goal is to be home by the time the tulips bloom.
Until she returns home, Biddle still enjoys seeing and hearing from her Holyoke friends. She can be reached at the following address:
