|School board schedules work session, meeting|

Holyoke School District Re-1J Board of Education has scheduled a work session Saturday, Jan. 3 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Delgado’s Restaurant in Sterling. Additionally, the first regular meeting of 2009 will be held Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. in the school administration office.
Heading the Jan. 3 agenda is a plan to debrief the work with Randy Black from the Dec. 10 meeting. Items will include a sample board agenda, statement of board integrity, quality leadership resolution, code of ethics for educators and district goals.
Also on the agenda are graduation requirements, athletics (HS football coaching plan, number of JH events and athletic director), open/closed lunch and basic budget planning for upcoming year.
At the Jan. 6 meeting, reports will be given by classroom teachers and on a code of ethics for Holyoke educators.
Action items on the agenda are a letter of resignation, additions to the 2008-09 substitute list/Type V substitute teaching authorization, facility use request and rural caucus resolution.
