Adding two wins to their record this past weekend, Holyoke jayvee girls’ basketball team defeated Sedgwick County and Community Christian.
“I am very proud of our junior varsity team, as they have compiled a seven-game winning streak over the past stretch of games,” said coach Arlan Scholl. “They are also showing solid improvement, and I am very pleased with their progress individually as well as a team.”
Holyoke JV 44, Sedgwick County 15
Traveling to Sedgwick County Friday, Jan. 22, the Dragons landed a big 44-15 win over the Cougars. Holyoke dominated scoring in all four quarters.
Leading Dragon scoring was Mallory Bennett with 12 points followed by Kaylee Groshans and Heather Duester with six apiece; KrisAnna Ham five; Erin Vieselmeyer and Patricia Adams four apiece; Annie Daniel, Brooke Parker and Elissa Baker two apiece; and Emily Bradley one.
Holyoke JV 32, Community Christian 4
Holding their opponent to single digits, Holyoke blew away Community Christian 32-4 in their game Saturday, Jan. 23 at NJC. The Dragons outscored Community Christian in all four quarters.
Top scorer was Adams with 10 points followed by Groshans with six; Marissa Chambers and Bennett four apiece; and Chandler Gerk, Ham, Duester and Vieselmeyer two apiece.
