Co Building Farmers applications are due PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

The Northeast Colorado Building Farmers steering committee is excited to announce the request for applications for the inaugural 2010 program for this region.

The broader Colorado Building Farmers program is now in its third year, and is extending the program’s series (usually held over eight weeks) into a series of four half-day classes held in several locations in the northeast region.

The program is designed to help new farmers explore farming as a business and provide intermediate and experienced farmers with tools and ideas to redefine and enhance their business management, production and marketing skills.

The Market Farm track focuses on a food crop business that either markets produce directly to consumers or develop more targeted wholesale accounts with restaurants and retailers. Program outcomes include the creation of or modification of a business plan by all participants.

For more information, see http://goldenplains.colostate.edu or The Agriculture and Business Management website, http://www.coopext.colostate.edu/ABM or call the Washington County Extension office at 970-345-2287.

Application, registration and a check (made payable to Colorado Building Farmers Program) are due by Friday, Jan. 29 for full consideration.

This program is a collaborative effort of Colorado State University Extension, the Western Center for Risk Management Education and Rocky Mountain Farmers Union.
