Four seats will be up for election May 4 for Melissa Memorial Hospital Board of Directors.
The four-year terms for Steve Young, Steve Deaver and Sheryl Farnsworth are all up. All three plan to seek re-election.
Ray Malleck announced his resignation recently as he will be moving to Imperial, Neb. He was elected in 2008 and his term will end in 2012. As a result, one new board member will be elected to a two-year term.
With the deadline fast approaching, those interested only have a little time left to get their name in. They should contact administrator John Ayoub at 854-2241 for self-nomination by Friday, Feb. 26.
Board members must be over 18 years old, live in or own property within the district and they must not be a felon.
The election will be canceled on the condition there are only enough or fewer people interested to fill the spots. The election can be canceled as early as March 4, according to Ayoub. On the occasion the election is canceled, the two-year seat would be an appointment.
The nomination form calls for the applicant to declare if they are running for a four-year or two-year term.
Administrator Ayoub said he has had one interested person as of Friday, Feb. 19 and the incumbents had not yet filed.
