|Hispanic Health Fair Saturday|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
A second health fair will be offered by East Phillips County Hospital District Saturday, May 8 at Holyoke High School.
After forming a community linkages committee, board members met with members of the Hispanic community and the idea of holding a Hispanic Health Fair came alive.
The fair will be held from 9 a.m.-12 noon Saturday, May 8. The format will be very similar to the fair held in March.
Many of the same things will be offered including height and weight measurements, eye checks, body fat and blood pressure analysis, blood draws and blood work reviews.
Blood draws taken the day of the fair will not be available for immediate review and can be picked up at the hospital. Those planning to have blood drawn Saturday morning need to fast for 12 hours before the test.
Translators from Rural Solutions and the school will be present to help make the process run smoothly. Information will also be available in Spanish as well as English.
The health fair isn’t limited to just the Hispanic community. Anyone is welcome to attend and participate.
