It was a nice evening for racing at Phillips County Raceway Sunday, June 6 until the rain came midway through the Hobby Stock main.
All the heat races and modified main were completed by the time the rain moved into Holyoke. Even though the races were cut short, the audience witnessed fast action that included multiple wrecks. The stock and sport mod mains will be made up July 4.
Results from the heat races are as follows:
Heat 1—Cody DeWester, Loren Jessen, Colt Gibbs, Ron Edge and Martha Newman.
Heat 2—John Groshans, Mike Woodhead, Nick Newman and Austin Davis.
Main (seven laps)—John Groshans, Cody DeWester, Mike Woodhead, Nick Newman, Austin Davis, Ron Edge and Colt Gibbs.
Heat 1—Justin Bussell, Lloyd Meeske, Ivan Wiebke, Wheat Lippelmann and Eric Hasenauer.
Heat 2—Jesse Taylor, Shawn Bigham, Casey Woken and Mikey Dancer.
Heat 1—Will Brack, Matt Brack, Garrett Sporhase, Eddie Belec and Mike Opatik.
Heat 2—Tyson Groves, Cole Hodges, Drew Miller, Dominic Ursetta and Kevin Massey.
Main—Will Brack, Matt Brack, Eddie Belec, Garrett Sporhase, Drew Miller and Tyson Groves.
Danny Councilman, Jacob Adler, Mitchell Opatik, Brandon Williams, Chad Young, Ron Edge, Lance Brandt and Randy Weber.
Racing action will return Friday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. with the URSS sprint cars, Colorado 1200 Outlaws and RMMSA.
