Power Up Electrical takes over translators PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Board members of the Region One Translator Association were saddened by the news of the recent passing of John Rietz, owner of RTZ Systems out of Yuma. The Translator Association has contracted with Rietz and his company for many, many years to maintain the TV translators in Sedgwick, Phillips and Yuma counties.

His skills will be sorely missed. He maintained the translator system and made sure all FCC licenses, rules and regulations were met.

Rietz was currently in the process of converting all the analog translators to digital translators as grant applications to the federal government were successful.

Rietz’s business will be purchased by Randy Rohrbacker of Wray and will operate under the business name of Power Up Electrical. Ed Lake, a long-term employee of RTZ Systems, will continue in the employment of Power Up Electrical, bringing continuity to the system maintenance.

TV viewers who have complaints on the translator signals can contact Power Up Electrical by sending an e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by calling 970-332-4015.

Board members of the Region One Translator Association are Richard Starkebaum of Haxtun, Stan Shafer of Laird and Jim Beck of Julesburg.
