members, speaking on the importance of the community in
reaching this great landmark. Ayoub, pictured above, presents
Bette Lou McCormick a plaque, honoring her service at the hospital
for the entire 50-year duration.
Hospital staff, board members and community members all

Following the unveiling of the FBLA clocktower at Melissa
Memorial Hospital, guests entered the hospital for a party.
In 1960, the East Phillips County Hospital District was
established; Thursday, July 22 the community celebrated
50 years of healthcare progress. Upon entering the lobby,
visitors signed the guestbook, received a friendly greeting from
the staff and a complimentary first aid kit, and were on their way
to enjoy the evening of celebration. Pictured from left are Staci
