After a 100-mile ride from McCook, Neb., 32 Bike and Build riders made their way into Holyoke Wednesday afternoon, July 21.
Phillips County Event Center served as the group’s home Wednesday night. They were very appreciative of the hospitality as 100 miles is about 28 miles over their daily average of 72 miles. The longest leg on their journey will be 120 miles, according to the riders.
College students from 16 different states and 23 different universities made up the group. They were hosted by Assembly of God, First Baptist Church, First Christian Church and First United Methodist Church.
The riders began in Providence, R.I. on June 11 and after 4,138 miles, will finish in San Francisco, Calif. on Aug. 21. The group took off early Thursday morning for the next leg of their trip.
