Responsibility is earmarked by the FFA and 4-H livestock exhibitors at the Phillips County Fair.
All participants are winners. Those earning Grand Champion (GC) and Reserve Grand Champion (RGC) honors for their livestock projects at the 2010 Fair follow:
In each livestock division, champion showman honors were awarded in junior, intermediate and senior divisions.
Round Robin showmanship recognition was achieved by Kendra Timm, senior; Hannah Gillmore, intermediate; and Taylor Hendrix, junior.
Champion showmen in individual categories follow:
Blake Mari, senior beef; Tyler Camblin, intermediate beef; Kaylee Camblin, junior beef; Morganne Kumm, junior dairy cow; Kelsie Kelly, senior market goat; Hannah Gillmore, intermediate market goat (third straight year); Tristen Roll, junior market goat.
Kendra Timm, senior sheep (second straight year); Hannah Gillmore, intermediate sheep (second straight year); Emily Atkins, junior sheep; Brian Strong, senior swine; Austin Vieselmeyer, intermediate swine; Alex Vieselmeyer, junior swine.
Sarah Heermann, senior horse (second straight year); Hannah Gillmore, intermediate horse (third straight year); Taylor Hendrix, junior horse (second straight year).
Chris Ballard, intermediate rabbit; Ella Stewart, senior poultry; Luke Stewart, intermediate poultry; and Drew Stewart, junior poultry.
Tyler Camblin showed the GC market beef in this year’s Fair, while Austin Vieselmeyer had the RGC. Austin Vieselmeyer had the GC breeding beef female for the fourth straight year and Alex Vieselmeyer showed the RGC breeding beef female.
Beef rate of gain honors went to GC Sidney Struckmeyer and RGC Brandon Struckmeyer.
Bucket calves were shown by Brooke Plumb, Eva Kramer and Theron Roll.
In market goat competition, Katie Gibson won GC market goat and champion rate of gain, while Hannah Gillmore showed the RGC market goat. Brandon Struckmeyer took GC breeding meat goat, with Janna Smith RGC.
Kendra Timm showed the GC market lamb, while Hannah Gillmore had the RGC. Elise Atkins was recognized for overall sheep rate of gain.
Austin Vieselmeyer showed the GC market swine for the third straight year, and he also had the RGC project to sweep the top awards.
GC all-around honors in this year’s horse show went to Sarah Heermann in the senior division (fourth straight year); Kody Timm, intermediate; and Taylor Hendrix, junior (second straight year).
Hendrix showed the GC mare overall and the RGC gelding. Hannah Gillmore took GC gelding overall honors, and Emma Adams showed the RGC mare.
In the senior division, Heermann won western horsemanship, reining, trail, high point gymkhana horse, high performance horse and rider and overall English champion.
Intermediate honors for Timm included western horsemanship, trail, high point gymkhana horse and high point performance horse and rider.
Gillmore earned intermediate honors in the reining class.
Junior division honors for Hendrix were earned in western horsemanship, reining, trail, high point gymkhana horse and high point performance horse and rider.
GC Poultry honors went to Christopher Ballard, while Luke Stewart was RGC.
