Those interested in taking a hunter safety course will be given the opportunity Aug. 20-22.
Classes will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug 21; and 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22.
All classes will be held at the CSU Cooperative Extension office located at the Phillips County Event Center.
A written and live fire test will be given at the end of the class on Sunday. There is no fee to attend and all materials will be provided.
Dove season starts in less than three weeks, according to Jack Wieland, district wildlife manager for Colorado Division of Wildlife. Those planning on hunting this season who were born during or later than 1949 need to complete an approved hunter safety course.
Contact Jack Wieland at 854-3512 or Ron Kilgour at 774-3636 for questions and reservations.
Parents of students are encouraged to attend.
