HHS swimmers performed extremely well at the Sterling-Windsor dual in Windsor last Tuesday, Jan. 20. While the host school defeated Sterling 105-81, some strong individual finishes were noted.
Individually, LeAnne McWilliams captured third in the backstroke and fifth in the 50 freestyle.
Freshman Jordan Zeiler placed fourth in the 50 freestyle and fifth in the 100 freestyle events, and sophomore Briar Bergner nabbed fifth in the 100 breaststroke.
Relay teams met with success last week.
McWilliams and Bergner swam on the 200 medley relay team, which placed third.
Zeiler and Krogmeier competed on the third-place 200 free relay and the third-place 400 free relay.
Other Holyoke swimmers on the Sterling team were Pamela McWilliams, Chelsy Gomez, Kendra Walz and Amber Wilkening.
Coach Adria Colver cited solid, steady improvement from Walz, Wilkening and Gomez.
She also noted she’s proud of the way LeAnne McWilliams, Pamela McWilliams, Bergner, Krogmeier and Zeiler are racing right now.
This week, the Sterling team’s schedule notes two duals. The girls hosted Silver Creek Tuesday, Jan. 27 and will travel to Estes Park Thursday, Jan. 29.
