Phillips County Arts Council 2010-11 season is gearing up, with memberships sales under way this month.
Four shows are planned in the series. Three have been set, with the fourth one still in the works.
Prior to the first show on Oct. 9, a membership sign-up time will begin at 7 p.m. The March 4 and April 19 shows will feature local entertainment at 7 p.m., followed by the shows at 7:30 p.m.
The season will kick off Saturday, Oct. 9 with a show by Redhead Express.
The show features the Walker family with seven children. They will present original and traditional bluegrass, gospel and old-timey music.
The wholesome family showcases their four daughters’ beautiful harmonies and original songs. Mom and Dad add vocal depth and backup, and occasionally feature their three young boys.
Simon & Son is a father and son piano duet team. They will perform Friday, March 4.
High energy and high humor has been used to describe their show of popular and classical music. It will be an evening of keyboard acrobatics.
Tuesday, April 19, The Marlins will be on stage. The four brothers will entertain with a repertoire that covers the entire musical spectrum, including country, rock, big band, pop, classical, jazz and bluegrass.
The search is still on for selecting a fourth program, but Phillips County Arts Council will announce its plan when the fourth show is scheduled.
