|JH VB girls keep busy|

JH volleyball teams had a busy week of action last week as they traveled to Sedgwick County Monday, Sept. 27, hosted Imperial, Neb., Thursday, Sept. 30 and hosted a B tournament Saturday, Oct. 2.
Monday at Sedgwick County, all three teams came up short.
The A team fell in two 14-25 and 9-25. The B team lost in three games, 17-25, 25-18 and 11-15. The C team fell 25-16, 21-25 and 10-15.
The B team came away with the lone victory Thursday against Imperial as they won 25-15 and 25-22. Coach Theresa Tharp said it was a very exciting win for the girls.
The A team fell in two games, 5-25 and 10-25. The C team also lost in two games, 11-25 and 17-25.
Four teams took to the gym at HHS Saturday, Oct. 2 for the B tournament. Teams included Haxtun, St. Anthony’s, Sedgwick County and Holyoke.
The home team finished in second place after beating St. Anthony’s 25-10, 21-25 and 15-10. “The girls served amazingly well and played together as a team,” Tharp said.
Holyoke then fell short to Haxtun 9-25 and 5-25 to finish in the runner-up spot.
Holyoke will host Merino and Caliche Thursday, Oct. 7 with games set to begin at 4 p.m.
The A team will wrap up the season in Wiggins Saturday, Oct. 9 for the A team league tournament.
