The Holyoke High School volleyball team’s Pink-Out promotion on Oct. 15 netted more than $1,500 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Project coordinator Mallory Bennett, a senior member of the volleyball team, said the money was raised from the auction of the balls, pink t-shirt sales, donations and pledges for aces and kills.
During the game with Yuma, the varsity Dragons had 33 total kills and aces.
The team was pleased with the community support shown as spectators donned their pink in support of the breast cancer awareness and fund raiser project.
It was a sea of pink in the Haxtun gym Thursday, Oct. 21 when Dragon fans, as well as Bulldog fans supported the Haxtun High School pink-out promotion in their game with Holyoke.
