|MMH Foundation to celebrate|

Celebrations are always fun for anyone involved and it will be no different Sunday, Nov. 21 at Melissa Memorial Hospital. The Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation (MMHF) will host its annual Legacy of Thanks Celebration at MMH this year instead of at the Sunset View Community Room as in years past.
Another change will be the time. Usually held mid afternoon, the program will begin at 12:30 p.m. to accommodate those who want to attend the grand opening/thank you celebration of the Phillips County Event Center. The program should end just before 2 p.m. leaving time for people to head over to the Event Center, according to MMHF executive director Cherrie Brown.
Brown said they want people to enjoy both celebrations as residents have played a key role in both projects.
Those donors and friends who attend the Legacy of Thanks Celebration will have the opportunity to view old hospital and medical equipment. Also on display will be the completed donor walls.
Awards will be presented to an outstanding philanthropist, outstanding business and outstanding adult. The Angel Award and Executive Director awards will also be given.
Six scholarship recipients will offer comments and MMH administrator John Ayoub will speak as well.
“This is an opportunity for us to connect with and thank those who tirelessly serve the hospital district, through the hospital foundation, to help us in our mission to provide for a healthy community in which there is efficient, quality care within available resources,” Ayoub said. “It’s also an opportunity for us to provide a hearty thank you to those who put forth their time, talent and treasure in no small measure to help us serve the community.”
Hors d’oeuvres and sandwiches will be served during the program.
