Congressman-elect Cory Gardner was appointed to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce by the Steering Committee Saturday, Dec. 11.
“It is an honor to be named to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce by my colleagues,” said Gardner. “With jurisdiction over telecommunications, energy and interstate and foreign commerce, the committee has a tremendous impact on the economy and touches the lives of every resident of the 4th Congressional District. With this committee assignment I believe I will be able to immediately help get the economy back on track.”
With jurisdiction ranging from national energy policy to regulation of interstate and foreign communications, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce has one of the broadest jurisdictions of any congressional committee.
Congressman-elect Gardner will be sworn in to office on Jan. 5, 2011. He lives in Yuma with his wife Jaime and daughter Alyson.
