Amid all the holiday festivities taking place this month, elementary students, family and friends got all wrapped up in the annual Christmas program Tuesday night, Dec. 7 at the HHS auditorium.

Kindergarten, second grade and fourth grade students, under the direction of Marcia Dalton, presented “A Season of Song.”

After giving their parents a wave from the stage, kindergartners kicked off the show with “We are the Stars.” Decked out in their colorful polka-dotted penguin costumes, they sang “The Penguin Polka” followed by “Gingerbread Cookies.”

“Snowmen” was performed by the kindergarten boys while the girls sang “Snowflakes.” Students took turns with the mic to recite their very impressive “The Christmas ABCs” poem.

Kindergartners finished up their portion of the program with the crowd favorite “Jingle Bells” including variations like a March, a Waltz, the Cha-Cha, Cowboy style, Indian style and Boogie Woogie. Accompanist for the kindergartners was Jane Encinias.

Next the second grade hit the stage with “Santa Is My Buddy” with narrators Ethan Andersen, Angel Martinez Leon, Michael Pell, Rylan Worley, Aaron Sierra, Nayely Banuelos, Sebastian Cazares, Aaron Dominguez, Eduardo Quintana, Ximena Chavez, Riley Ferguson, Erick Marroquin and Chloie Metzger.

Second graders sang “La Navidad” with soloist Christian Inerarity.

“Choc’late In My Stocking” featured Hersheys candy bars with lucky audience members even getting a sample of the delicious treat from chocolate delivery kids Fantasia Ruybal, Yeidy Mendoza Gonzalez, Erick Marroquin, Eduardo Quintana, Austin Durbin and Chloie Metzger.

It wouldn’t quite be Christmas without a performance by Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, reindeer and...Elfis? Yes, the wildly popular Elfis and his Sleighriders took the stage for the fourth grade Christmas play Tuesday night.
