HHS boys’ basketball team split a pair of games falling to Brush 39-55 Friday, Dec. 17 and beating Sedgwick County 48-12 Saturday, Dec. 18.
Holyoke 39, Brush 55
The Dragons fell behind quickly against Brush and trailed 10-32 at the half and 19-50 heading into the final period. Holyoke cut into the deficit, outscoring the Beetdiggers 20-5 in the final period, but it wasn’t enough as they came up short, 39-55.
Logan Tharp led the Dragons with 12 points followed by Trevor Dalton nine, Saul Ramos six, Brett Cumming five, Logan Zeiler, Chris Bieber and Deyten Klein two and Jaydin Goldenstein one.
Holyoke 48, Sedgwick County 12
After a slow start, Holyoke led the Cougars 7-4 heading into the second quarter. The Dragons outscored Sedgwick County in the remaining three periods to come away with the big 48-12 victory.
Goldenstein finished with 10 points followed by Phillip Beck nine, Dalton eight, Tharp five, Ramos four, Cumming and Klein three and Ryan Parker, Bieber and Matt Golden two apiece.
