Mark Edmonds wrestled his way through the 125-lb. bracket to a second-place finish at the Fort Collins Invitational Saturday, Jan. 8.

The Dragon team was missing three wrestlers, as Parker Redfern was out with an injury and Skyler Dittmer and Broc Pelle were sick.

Coach Jack Garrison was pleased with Edmonds’ performance, and also commended Astolfo Rojo, who earned a match win at 189 lbs.

Windsor won the Fort Collins tournament, which featured 15 teams. Next in the top seven were Legacy with 194.5, Poudre 152.5, Fort Collins 130.5, Loveland 124, Fossil Ridge 122 and Akron 117.

This week, the Dragons head to Imperial, Neb. for tourney action Saturday, Jan. 15.

Individual match results from last week’s tournament at Fort Collins follow:

125 lbs.­—Mark Edmonds placed second, going 3-1 for the day.

He pinned Art Sandoval of Denver West in 1:19, pinned Collin Randall of Legacy in 1:07, won a 2-0 decision over Josh Butler of Gateway and fell in 5:45 to Seth Villa of Windsor in the championship.

140 lbs.­—Ben Martinez lost by a tech fall to Kyle Berges of Mountain Vista and was pinned in 2:47 by Preston Blackburn of Fossil Ridge.

145 lbs.­—Leo Ortiz was pinned in 1:37 by Austin Harris of Windsor and was pinned in 4:34 by Ryan Rios of Lakewood.

152 lbs.—Spencer Kotch fell to Jesse Carlson of Legacy in 2:16 and was pinned in 4:09 by Peter Merrick of Mountain Vista.

189 lbs.—Astolfo Rojo was pinned in 2:51 by Alvin Perry of Loveland, pinned Zack Deleplancque of Horizon in 3:32 and lost a 5-18 major decision to John Dean of Denver West.

215 lbs.—Jesus Hermosillo was pinned in 1:14 by Dillon Hougnon of Poudre and lost a 5-7 decision to Michael Harrison of Fossil Ridge.

285 lbs.—Perry Garrett was pinned in :55 by Reed Christensen of Akron and was pinned in :56 by Greg Nigoghosian of Mountain Vista.
