Youth from Holyoke and surrounding communities packed the auditorium at Holyoke High School
Wednesday, Jan. 12 to listen to the music of VOTA (above) and Amy Schmidt. Featured speaker Mike
Smith spoke to the crowd about poor decisions he made in high school and how turning to the Lord
changed his life. The event was made possible by Youth Challenge and other community sponsors.
Event organizers said 309 people attended the concert with people showing up from northeast
Colorado and southwest Nebraska. Earlier in the afternoon, Smith spoke to a group of students at
HHS, sharing his stories.
The 180 Tour travels across the country with headline band VOTA and featured speakers encouraging
students to change their world. Rick Cleaver of Youth Challenge was pleased with the turnout and said
he received positive feedback from those who attended. “It went real well and the community enjoyed
it,” he added. —Enterprise photos
