Boys’ C basketball team 0-2 for the weekend PDF Print E-mail

In boys’ C team basketball action over the weekend, Holyoke lost to both Wray and then Burlington on Friday and Saturday. HHS lost in four quarters to Wray, 32-38, and came up short against Burlington in a two-quarter game, 21-14.

The Dragons played catch-up throughout the game against Wray on Friday, after the Eagles took a three-point lead in the first quarter. Holyoke was down by six at the half, with the score 19-13.

In their best period of the game, HHS put up 10 points in the third, including two threes by Alex Quin-tana and Sheng Xuezhi. This brought them within two, 25-23.

Unfortunately for the Dragons, the Eagles were unwilling to hand over the win, and scored another 13 points. Though Xuezhi shot another three, the Dragons couldn’t catch up with only nine points, and lost the game by six.

Quintana led in points with 12. Others scoring were Xuezhi with eight, Austin Killin six and Chris Bieber, Brent Vasa and Erik Scharin with two apiece.

Holyoke C 14, Burlington 21

Playing only a two-quarter game against Burlington on Saturday, the teams kept it close through the first. Though HHS made two three-point field goals, the Cougars had a one-point lead, 12-13.

Burlington went on to take the win in the second by outscoring Holyoke 8-2.

HHS scoring was led by Quintana with seven,Vasa four and Killin three.
