|JV girls lose in close three-point games|

Holyoke’s jayvee girls’ basketball team ended the weekend with two losses to Burlington and Wray, both games with a slim three-point margin at the final buzzer.
Holyoke JV 26, Burlington 29
Traveling to Burlington Friday, Feb. 4, the JV girls lost 26-29 to the Cougars.
A big first quarter for the Cougars gave them the seven-point advantage at halftime. Holyoke outscored Burlington in the second half, but it wasn’t quite enough to gain a lead for the win.
Maddie King and Chandler Gerk led Dragon scoring with six points apiece followed by Marissa Chambers and Jordan Zeiler with four apiece and Audi Peña and Erin Vieselmeyer three apiece.
Holyoke JV 50, Wray 53
With JV basketball action in Wray Saturday, Feb. 5, Holyoke Lady Dragons ended with a heartbreaking 50-53 loss to the Eagles.
Holyoke found themselves up by two points at the end of the first quarter, but a disappointing 4-19 points in the second quarter put them back by 13 at halftime.
They outscored Wray by 10 points in the second half, but again they finished with a three-point loss.
Top scorer was King with 17 points followed by KrisAnna Ham with 11, Chambers 10, Peña seven, Molly Brandt four and Gerk one.
