|Girls with Goals Day at the capitol|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Friday was the first-ever “Girls with Goals Day” at the state capitol. Each state senator was paired with
one fifth grade girl from his or her district. Sen. Greg Brophy, R-Wray, was paired with Riley Bauman,
pictured above right, of Fort Morgan, daughter of Ben and Angel Bauman. The girls spent part of the
morning on the floor of the Senate, watching the Senate debate several bills. In the afternoon they
participated in a mock committee session where they debated three bills that were created by some of
the young senators.
