Holyoke Enterprise reporter Chris Lee has been promoted to News Editor for the weekly newspaper, announced publisher Brenda Brandt.
Lee has been a member of the Enterprise staff since June of 2009, after receiving his B.S. degree in journalism from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo. in December of 2008.
He served as sports editor of the Chariton Valley News Press in Salisbury, Mo. for five months prior to moving to Holyoke close to two years ago.
In the past two years, Lee has covered community events and activities in multiple areas. He’s capably handled sports, City Council and hospital board meetings, as well as features and photos throughout the community.
Lee has his own photography business, called “Photography by C Lee.” Through that business, he served as photographer for last year’s Relay for Life and the Feb. 26 Mardi Gras fund raiser for Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation.
This year, Lee is serving as online chair for 2011 Relay and will again be the official photographer.
He is just finishing up an extensive EMT-Basic course to become certified as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Lee has contributed to staff awards through the Colorado Press Association and has been a terrific team member on the Enterprise staff, praised Brandt.
