As of Sunday, April 17, the United States Postal Service implemented several small increases.
The cost of a second ounce on letters that weigh up to three and one-half ounces increased from 17 to 20 cents, according to Connie Troutman, Officer in Charge at the Holyoke post office.
She also noted postcards now cost 29 cents to send as opposed to the previous 28 cents.
The cost for certified mail increased five cents to $2.85.
Troutman noted that first class stamps have remained the same at 44 cents.
Locally, small post office boxes have increased to $46 per year, according to Troutman.
She also said bulk mailing rates have increased but only slightly. Bulk mail orders will see an increase of only pennies.
