Holyoke tracksters were geared up and ready for this year’s Yuma Bill Kalb Invitational track meet Tuesday, April 12.
Earning top honors in Yuma were senior Marci Vasa in the girls’ triple jump and junior Alex Quintana in the boys’ 800 meter run.
Out of 25 teams competing at Tuesday’s meet, Holyoke girls finished sixth with 41 points. Freshman/sophomore girls also landed at sixth place out of 10 teams with six points.
HHS boys were 15th place out of 23 teams, earning 17.5 points in Yuma.
800 meter run—Quintana, first, 2:04.88.
110 meter hurdles—Quintana, fourth, :16.57.
Sprint medley relay—Ryan Parker, Saul Ramos, Matt Wittman and Pekka Roivas, sixth, 4:35.86.
200 meter dash—Heather Duester, fourth, :27.26.
400 meter dash—Duester, fifth, 1:03.16.
100 meter hurdles—KrisAnna Ham, fourth, :18.34.
4x100 meter relay (freshman/sophomore)—Shobi Burris, Lindsay Helgoth, Audi Peña and Tia Huffman, fourth, 1:00.65.
4x200 meter relay—Vasa, Jacinda Krueger, Mallory Bennett and Duester, third, 1:54.71.
4x400 meter relay—Krueger, Trixi Presich, Vasa and Duester, third, 4:25.02.
Shot put—Patricia Adams, fourth, 31’0.5”.
Triple jump—Vasa, first, 34’5.75”.
Tracksters competed at Chase County High School in Imperial, Neb. Tuesday, April 19. Results will be reported in next week’s Enterprise.
Last week’s Wray meet, which was postponed due to weather, is rescheduled for Thursday, April 21 with events beginning at 3 p.m.
