|MMHF prepares for triathlon Monday|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
It’s time to find those old bikes, running shoes and swimsuits, because Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation’s 7th annual Amateur Triathlon 120 Club competition day is set for Monday, July 4.
Jerry Brandt, event chair, is encouraging everyone to “not just try the ‘tri,’ but to do the ‘tri.’”
Registration for the event starts at 7 a.m. at Holyoke Swimming Pool on competition day. Everyone is invited to race, but there will be a fee for any contestants who did not participate in the six-week challenge. All contestants will receive a long sleeve t-shirt for registering.
The race will consist of four miles of bicycling, two miles of running or walking and six laps of swimming. Competitors may race as a team or individually.
Awards will be given to the top three racers in each age division, and team and individual divisions will be awarded separately. Six-week challenge competitors will also receive awards after the triathlon.
For questions or early registration, contact Brenda Krueger at 970-854-4158 or Jerry Brandt at 970-854-3398.
