Tanner Evans, son of Tim and Marsha (Olson) Evans of Centennial, was honored at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor Nov. 20.
Among those attending the ceremony were his grandparents from Holyoke, Don and Betty Olson and Pat Church.
Evans is a junior at Cherry Creek High School and a member of Boy Scout Troop 373 in Centennial. He is the first Scout from his patrol to earn the Eagle rank.
Evans’ Eagle Scout project entailed construction of a nature trail in the Cherry Creek Valley Ecological Park. He planned, organized and implemented the project.
After all the formal approvals were obtained, Evans recruited volunteers and organized the work day.
On May 21, Evans directed the help of about 35 volunteers including scouts, leaders and family in completing the nature trail.
After successfully completing the project, he took part in a Scoutmaster’s conference, sat before a strenuous adult board of review and had his Eagle Scout application reviewed by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
