Hearts and valentines overflowed at the Friends of the Library’s “I Heart My Library” annual salad luncheon Monday, Feb. 6 at the Phillips County Event Center.

New members were welcomed to the group while volunteers and supporters were honored for their dedication to Holyoke’s Heginbotham Library.

Outgoing officers included president Linda Jelden and treasurer Hilda Hassler.

Active supporter of the library Karen Crocker received the Outstanding Volunteer Award for all the time she dedicates to organizing the Book Bonanza.

Librarian Laura Roth was recognized for her commitment to the Heginbotham Library, going above and beyond her job duties, whether it’s welcoming children to the library or delivering books to those who can’t make it out of the house.

Friends of the Library stayed busy this past year with events like the Book Bonanza in the fall, Library Extravaganza at Christmastime and Art and Tea Party in the summer, providing them with funds to use at the library.

Monday’s celebration ended with a performance by the HHS Select Choir.
