|Penfold to present report on Russia trip April 19|

Having recently returned from a trip to Russia, Pastor Gordon Penfold will be showing slides and giving a report on his religious work in the country on Sunday, April 19 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church located at 343 S. Baxter in Holyoke.
Russia is rapidly closing its doors to western Christianity. Religious visas are almost a thing of the past. The stance of the government toward evangelical Christianity is beginning to resemble the hostile attitudes that Christians experienced under Communism prior to perestroika.
After 18 months of dealing with bureaucratic red tape, Penfold was finally granted a visa to travel to the Russian Far East to work with pastors and churches in Vladivostok and the Primorye region. The invitation was issued through the Primorye Association of Missionary and Evangelical Churches.
Following the presentation, there will be time for questions and answers. All are invited to attend.
