Several Easter services are scheduled at area churches this weekend. The following churches have events planned for Easter:

Assembly of God

Friday, April 6, Holyoke Assembly of God Church will host a Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m. Easter breakfast will be Sunday, April 8 at 9 a.m. followed by a 10:30 a.m. service.

Fairfield

Covenant Church

Fairfield Covenant Church will have their regular worship service at 10 a.m.

First Baptist Church and Vida Abundante

First Baptist and Vida Abundante will have a combined Good Friday service at 7 p.m. with the message in both English and Spanish. Saturday, a potluck will be held at 6 p.m. before the 7 p.m. Vintage Faith and Worship service.

On Easter Sunday, a sunrise service (English and Spanish) is planned for 6:15 a.m. at the new building site just south of the hospital, followed by a carry-in breakfast. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m., and the regular service begins at 10:30 a.m. Vida Abundante will meet Sunday evening at 5:30.

First Christian Church

Holyoke First Christian church invites everyone to an Easter breakfast Sunday from 7-8:15 a.m. followed by an 8:30 service.

First United Methodist Church

On Easter Sunday, First United Methodist Church will hold their early worship service at 8:15 a.m. A pancake breakfast is scheduled at 9 a.m. with an Easter egg hunt for the little ones at 10 a.m. Late worship begins at 10:30 a.m.

Holyoke Church of Christ

Holyoke Church of Christ will hold their regular worship service at 9 a.m. Sunday morning.

Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church

A Good Friday service is planned at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church at noon April 6. On Sunday, they will meet at 5:40 a.m. at County Road 54 and County Road U to hold their sunrise service at the top of Old Baldy. A brunch will be held around 7 a.m. with the Easter Sunday service at the church (County Roads 53 and P) at 9:30 a.m.

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church will have a Holy Thursday Mass of Christ’s Last Supper April 5 at 7 p.m. There will be a Veneration of the Cross and Eucharist service on Good Friday at 6:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s, as well as one at noon at Christ the King Catholic Church in Haxtun.

St. Patrick’s is planning an Easter Vigil Mass of the Resurrection Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Christ the King will hold an Easter Sunday service at 8:30 a.m. with St. Patrick’s Easter service at 1 p.m. in Holyoke.

St. Paul’s Lutheran churches

St. Paul’s Lutheran churches in Amherst and Venango, Neb. will have a combined Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. in Venango. On Good Friday, there will be a combined service at 7 p.m. in Amherst.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Venango will hold an Easter Sunday sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. followed by a potluck breakfast. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst will have an 8 a.m. Easter breakfast, followed by a 9 a.m. service.

Venango Community Church

Venango Community Church is planning an 8 a.m. breakfast on Easter Sunday followed by a worship service around 9 a.m.

Zion Lutheran Church

Zion Lutheran Church will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. as well as a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. The Easter Sunday service will begin at 9 a.m., so there will be no Sunday school or Bible class.
