The Northeast Colorado Rural Philanthropy Days (RPD) Steering Committee is pleased to announce it will offer an early bird discounted registration fee for Rural Philanthropy Days scheduled for June 20-22 in Fort Morgan and Brush.

Early bird registration will end April 30, after which, registration will increase. To know more, visit www.north eastrpd.org.

By attending this three-day event, nonprofits have the opportunity to engage in forums with Front Range funders and local government representatives about the region’s achievements and challenges, informal networking and capacity building workshops.

Rural Philanthropy Days began in 1991 in an effort to build connections between communities and nonprofit organizations, government agencies and Colorado-based foundations.

The RPD program is structured to maximize networking and partnership opportunities between the participants which often results in increased funding to a region following an RPD event. Northeast Rural Philanthropy Days is presented by a steering committee consisting of members from the 10-county Northeastern Colorado region of Cheyenne, Elbert, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma counties. The last Northeast Rural Philanthropy Days was in Burlington in 2008.

In the most recent cycle of RPD events, 14 major private foundations in Colorado increased their giving to rural nonprofits in Colorado by an average of 140 percent, from $13 million to $32 million regional average.

The average number of grants to rural nonprofits increased by 37 percent. The average amount per grant increased by 65 percent.

Grant makers who typically attend RPD have included: Adolph Coors Foundation, Anschutz Foundation, Boettcher Foundation, The Colorado Trust, El Pomar Foundation, Gates Family Foundation and many others.
