Dragon's Wagon Preschoolers ride 'em, rope 'em, round 'em up PDF Print E-mail

Cowboys and cowgirls donned masks and smiles as Dragon’s Wagon Preschoolers entertained in their annual program in the HHS auditorium Friday, May 4.

“Ride ’em, Rope ’em, Round ’em up” was this year’s program theme, and it was a yee-haw good time for performers and audience alike.

Two groups of preschool students entertained with songs and rhymes, decked out in colorful head pieces and handheld props.

A successful auction was held during the program, as well as a silent auction.

A spaghetti supper kicked off Friday’s evening of entertainment and fund raising for Dragon’s Wagon Preschool.

Children who will not be entering kindergarten next fall opened the cowboy theme program Friday.

All Group 1 children performed in “Ride ’em, Rope ’em, Round ’em Up.”

“Five Little Cowboys” featured Joel Estrada, Clayton Beard, Melik Ruybal Buls, Riley Powell and Theoden Britton.

“Cowboy Pokey” included Vianey Jimenez, Rosalinda Turcios Espinal, Erica Flores, Anessa Colglazier, Chase Guthrie and Edwin Chavez.

Mylee Dirks, Rubi Bencomo Dominguez, Mickenzie Warner, Courtlyn Kinnie and A.J. Acosta presented “The Wild West Rodeo.”

“I’ve Been Riding on the Range” featured Brody Smith, Reese Steggs, Hannah Keith, Marely Favela and Eduardo Flores.

Rorey Schneller, Hannah Damron, Claire Hubbard, Luxie Harms, Isabelle Kropp and Colby Weber closed Group 1’s portion of the program with “Little Cowpoke.”

Students who will enter kindergarten in August performed the second half of Friday’s program. Following their performance, each was presented a graduation certificate by preschool staff.

Marcia Walter serves as director for Dragon’s Wagon, with Joan Owens as assistant director. Amy Marner and Erin Lindholm are aides, while Nancy Miles serves as a BOCES aide.

“The Round Up is On” included Sophia Bencomo, Esteban Rojas, Alicia Torres, Thomas Diaz, Charlotte Kramer, Fatima Castillo, Vanessa Vega Quintana and Kinsey Rahe.

“The Little Cowboy Song” featured Lesley Leon Leyva, Cody Maloney, Layna Wear and Parker Steggs.

Ivan Valenzuela, Abbie Dille, Saul Hernandez, Michel Vega Juarez, Grace Hubbard and Mason Powell came center stage for “Oh, I Wish I was a Cowboy.”

“Rodeo Rider” included Marren Dirks, Evan Tomky, Fatima Nunez and Irving Bencomo Dominguez.

Kegan Beard, Kylee Smith, Luis Perez, Estrella Quintana Ronquillo, Tyler Bergstrom and Gustavo Goytia were featured in “Cowboy Stew.”

“I Hop on my Horse” featured Nicole Schlachter, Larry Baquendano Espinal, Natalie Damron, Evan Widler Dahira Castillo and Briana Tena.

“I am a Cowboy” concluded the entertainment and featured Jaidah Elmquist, Gage Helgoth, Lukas Knutson, Vanessa Zapata, Sebastien Lopez, Luke Roberts, Lucinda Mares and Brandon Talich.
