The 58th Annual National Day of Prayer (NDP) will take place Thursday, May 7 at the Peerless Center at 7 p.m. The theme this year is “Prayer…America’s Hope” and is based on the verse from Psalm 33:22: “May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.”
“This is a critical time to be in prayer for America,” said National Day of Prayer coordinators. “The biblical principles upon which our country was founded are coming under attack in every segment of society. Yet despite this troubling trend, we can take heart in the knowledge that God hears and responds to the earnest cries of His people.”
The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force led by Shirley Dobson is to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, mobilizing the Christian community to intercede for America and its leadership in the seven centers of influence in the nation: government, military, media, business, education, church and family.
“We hope that you, your family and friends would participate in the National Day of Prayer,” said coordinators. “We pray that prayer for our nation moves from a one-day event to a lifetime endeavor.
They added, we wouldn’t have the freedom in America that we have today if it weren’t for the men and women who fought for us. They encourage veterans to attend so they might honor them for the sacrifice they made for freedom.
