End-of-the-year ceremonies were held by local Girl Scouts last Thursday, May 17 at Holyoke Elementary School to celebrate a good year and to honor girls as they bridge from one level to the next.
The youngest girls to be promoted were Tyla Knutson and Riann Worley, who crossed the bridge from Daisies to Brownies.
Bridging from Brownies to Juniors were Serina Almeida and Loren Jo Oberle.
Junior Reghan Worley crossed the bridge to join the Cadettes.
Girls who were not at the ceremony but who are also bridging include Daisies Bria Thomas and Heather Anderson; Brownies Alicia Astorga, Taylor Trumper and Nadia Santiesteban; and Cadettes Kanyon Moore and Savanna Krueger.
Girls also received their prizes for cookie sales this year. Troop leader Ravon Krueger explained how the girls donated cookies to local troops serving overseas with their Hometown Hero project. Funds from cookie sales also helped the troop buy books to use for their lessons.
Top cookie sellers included Charlotte Kramer for the Daisy group; Eva Kramer, Brownies; Emali Torres, Juniors; and Savanna Krueger, Cadettes.
Family and friends celebrated the bridging ceremony and the Girl Scouts’ 100th anniversary with cake and refreshments.
