A very large crowd packed into the stands at Phillips County Raceway Friday, May 18 for Fan Appreciation Night. Despite overcast skies and some visible lightning, the races continued as fans were treated to a full lineup of fast cars. Making their first appearance on the new track surface were the Dwarf and Limited Late Model series. During intermission, drivers and their pit crews brought the cars to the front of the stands where they met with fans, signed autographs and gave people an up close look at the machines they drive.
Fan Appreciation Night at the races gave kids a great opportunity Results are as follows: Modifieds: Jeremy Frenier, John Hansen, Garrett Sporhase, Eddie Belec, Zach Hilzer, Brett Smith, Cory Cox, Cole Hodges, Jason Haug, James Krehmeyer, Dan Carl, Don Geist, Greg Sharpe, Dick Brack, David Murray Jr., Chris Remetes, Jim Groenwold, Aaron Monie and Chris Stevans. Sport Mods: Jason Brees, Britt Geist, Jacob Adler, Corey Cruzan, Trip Gaylord, Steven Lewis, Shane Stout, Michael Lininger, Bryan Gerrick, Aaron Schwartz, James Walley, Tom Nelson Jr., Trevor Geist and Colt Wiebold. Stock Car: Jesse Taylor, Tyler Tipton, Justin Bussell, Ivan Wiebke, Earl Woodword, Jeff Whiting, Lloyd Meeske, Casey Woken, Tony Walker, Doug Unsen and Shawn Bigham. Hobby Stock: Cody Pancake, Austin Davis, Ron Edge, Colt Gibbs, William Maginnis, Tyrel Smith, Mike Woodhead and Darren Green. Limited Late Models: Steve Lewis, Jeff Meeker, Scott Lewis, Scott Cimfl, Paul Corbely, Larry Jackson, Rick Barnes, Tim Verkamo, Jared Maas, DJ Banks, Tim Keifer and Dave Garmon. Dwarfs: Alex Amen, John Schnieder, David Fox, Richard Smith, Charlie Drager, Jerry Hunter, TJ Trengove, Don Morrison, Larry Stone, Danny Rogers, Andy Rogers, Joe Davis, Barb Stechman, Bryan McCauley, Ethan Mattison and Stan Grippin. Engines will roar again Friday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m. when the races will feature the URSS Sprint Cars along with modifieds, sport mods, hobbies and stocks.
