|Workshop offered for flower exhibitionists|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Join CSU Extension and Linda Langelo, horticulture program associate, Friday, June 29 from 6-8 p.m. at the Phillips County Event Center Ortner Room for a floriculture workshop.
It will give participants the basics for understanding what the rules are for exhibiting flowers. They need to know how to cut their flowers so they are showing the best. The workshop will also cover the signs of when a flower is going past its prime. Some of this information is common sense, while some of the information is following the exhibit rules. And some of the information is learning the flower.
In the workshop participants will be able to view some live examples of flowers. Being a difficult season, they will review when to cut flowers and how best to keep them looking fresh. This workshop will provide participants with a valuable packet of information to use and refer to later.
Other resources of where to gather information will also be available. For questions regarding the workshop, please call Langelo at 854-3616.
Extension programs are available to all without discrimination. If anyone has a disability for which they seek an accommodation, please notify Langelo by Wednesday, June 27.
